Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will it take to solve my issue?

That is dependant on the individual, although typically I would work with a client for three to six sessions.

What happens during a session?

We will use discussion, relaxation techniques, hypnosis and mental rehearsal to help you achieve your goal.

What is your main approach?

I use cognitive behavioural therapy and clinical hypnotherapy, supported by other therapies such as mindfulness and nlp.

What is cognitive behavioural therapy?

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that is the therapy of choice within the NHS for the treatment of anxiety. It helps individuals understand how their thoughts affect their emotions, feelings and actions.

What is hypnotherapy?

It is a process whereby the therapist helps the client focus their attention inwards in a focused and relaxed way in order that unconscious mind, which is responsible for many of our habits and behaviours, can be accessed.

Is hypnotherapy / hypnosis safe?

Absolutely. It is used within the NHS in a number of areas including oncology, dentistry and psychiatry.

Can you guarantee success?

Whilst I cannot guarantee to solve every issue, I can guarantee to offer a wide range of therapeutic strategies, delivered in a professional setting, using a solution-focused and time-limited treatment plan.

Is the process confidential?

Yes. From the moment you first contact me your personal details will be protected. No information will be sold on or accessed by third parties. Any information I gather will be securely stored and will follow the guidelines listed in the Data Protection Act.
